It’s been 3 years (April 10, 2017) since we first talked about NoMoRobo and with all the scammers out there trying to take advantage of the Coronavirus pandemic, I thought it would be a good time to revisit this service.

Since we’ve been sheltering in place, like many of you, I’ve been working from home. It been surprising for me to see just how many RoBo calls this FREE service is protecting me and my family from. Yesterday, the first call came in at slightly after 8:00am and we’ve had robo calls come in as late as 10:00pm.

The beauty of NoMoRobo (aside from it being FREE) is that incoming calls are stopped before you answer the phone. When NoMoRobo identifys an incoming caller as a robo-caller or a telemarketer, it rings your phone 1 time and then sends the caller on their way. Important or legitimate robo calls from schools or local government are not blocked so you won’t miss any emergency calls either.

Currently NoMoRobo has a database of over 2,559,000 RoBo callers and the number increases as new robo-call phone numbers are identified.

The NoMoRobo service works with phone lines provided by Verizon FIOS, Comcast Xfinity, AT&T, Vonage Time Warner and a host or other landline providers.

As I’ve mentioned, one of the best things about NoMoRobo is that the service is absolutely FREE for landlines. This makes it pretty much a no brainer for many of us. They also have a version that works on mobile phones as well which only cost $1.99 per month. If you have one of those phone plans that charge for minutes, then this $1.99 could save you money if you get numerous RoBoCalls on your cell.

Here’s a link to a list of dozens of robo/spam callers along with recent recordings of their scam messages. Take a look and listen to prepare yourself for these types of calls.
