Review Your Company’s Internet Policy
Have a written internet policy to establish a guideline of acceptable use.
Every employee needs to sign it to establish that they received a copy.
Review the policy yearly and whenever altered.
To keep your business and network safe, include protocols such as:
- Internet use is for job-related activities only
- Personal internet use is prohibited
- All sites and downloads can be monitored and blocked if they are harmful or unproductive to the company
- Approval is necessary for the installation of all software or apps
- Social media policy
- Email use policy
- A zero-tolerance policy for communication that is offensive, discriminatory, or constitutes harassment.
