If you used LastPass in 2022 and were affected by their data breaches, you may be eligible for a cash payment—and in some cases, it could be significant.

Here’s what actually happened!
In 2022, LastPass suffered two major security breaches. Hackers were able to access user data stored in password vaults. While much of the data was encrypted, some information wasn’t, and in certain cases attackers were able to crack master passwords and access sensitive accounts. Reports later showed that some users lost money, including cryptocurrency.

As a result, LastPass faced lawsuits and agreed to an $8.2 million settlement.

Are you eligible?
You’re likely included if:
You lived in the U.S. and
You had a LastPass account with stored data during the 2022 breaches
If you received an email or letter about the breach or settlement, you’re definitely part of the group. Even if you didn’t – you may still qualify.

How much money could you get?
Here’s the breakdown:
Basic payouts:
$25 if you had a paid account (premium, family, or business)
Free tier users: 6 months of premium LastPass instead of cash
Extra $100 if you were a California resident (any account type)

Additional compensation (if you had losses):
Up to $300 for things like:
* Credit monitoring
* Identity protection services
* Security-related expenses
* Up to $10,000 for identity theft or fraud-related losses
